In the early morning, we headed to Hangzhou and West Lake. We had an early lunch at the Green Tea restaurant – so very similar to the Spicy Joint we love, and then strolled around the lake. This is the most famous city lake in China, and while Hangzhou is a developing city with many high-rises, the atmosphere around the lake is very much that of a holiday, with people leisurely walking, boats transporting people to the islands, lakeside gardens, and souvenir stalls.
