Shanghai

In the morning, we went to visit a Jade  Buddha temple, an operating Buddhist temple. People come here to pray year round, but the biggest crowd is seen for the Chinese New Year when thousands come to pray for a good fortune in the new year.

We headed to Pudong, the new modern part on the other side of the river front for a lunch and an afternoon souvenir shopping in one of the biggest markets. The tallest building in China, the Shanghai tower, was unfortunately still not open to the public.  Since we were leaving this fantastic city, we boarded our last train in China, the sleeper train which will bring us to Beijing overnight.
